Counting and Math with Pasta and Meatballs PLUS Coloring and Activity Fun – Workbook Review
Counting and Math With Pasta and Meatballs is the second book in Amelia Griggs’ activity books for young learners called The Bella And Friends Learning Series.
Like its predecessor, ABC Letter Tracing PLUS Coloring And Activity Fun, Counting and Math With Pasta and Meatballs is an activity book created to accompany her Bella and Mia Series. It has counting and traceable numbers for Pre-Kindergarten as well as addition and subtraction activities for Kindergarten through First Grade.
Right off the mark, the text engages children by introducing them to the characters and inviting them to hunt for these characters throughout the book. This seek-and-find gives kids an entertaining task that requires focus and attention to detail; two precursors required of effective learners.
There is also multi-racial representation which allows young learners to identify a piece of themselves and their friends in the book while learning basic math concepts. <CLICK HERE TO READ TO FULL REVIEW>
Silly Willy Apple Cake – Book Review
Silly Willy Apple Cake is a sweet slice-of-life tale that takes us inside the happy kitchen of Bella and her mother Mia.
Told through charming rhymes, the book begins with the duo picking apples at a farm. Once their baskets are full, they quickly decide to make an apple cake when they get home.
After inspecting the apples, they mix them up in a bowl with flour, sugar and spices then pop it in the oven. While they wait for the cake to bake, they spend the evening playing a silly willy word game.
Before long, the cake finishes and mother and daughter end their special day eating scrumptious pieces of apple cake. Yummy! <CLICK HERE TO READ TO FULL REVIEW>
Squishy Wishy Meatballs – Book Review and Author Spotlight
by Jen Lowry
I would like to introduce author, Amelia Griggs, as the Indie Sunday Spotlight Author of the Week.
Amelia is an author, instructional designer, eLearning developer, with a passion for writing. She writes in different genres, and currently has a computer book series, as well as a children’s book series.
Amelia provided us with a summary of her book, Squishy Wishy Meatballs. I own this book and gave it a 5 STAR Amazon Review – you should, too! You need to get your copy because you not only get a great, fun read for you and your child, but a family meatball recipe! How can you resist that?
Amelia gave us great advice. Here is her letter of encouragement to you!
“Setup a schedule for yourself to write each day, even if it’s only for 15 minutes, it really adds up quickly. Buy a colorful, fun notebook or journal or two to have on hand to write ideas as they pop into your head.” <CLICK HERE TO READ TO FULL REVIEW>
Squishy Wishy Meatballs – Book Review
Bella and Mia are back in the kitchen and this time they’re cooking up some meatball fun. Through simple rhyme and charming illustrations, the author, Amelia Griggs and illustrator, Winda Mulyasari show us once again how familial relationships are strengthened through the timeless tradition of preparing a meal together.
The character, Bella, captures the enthusiasm of a child eager to help with a grown-up task. Her mother, Mia demonstrates how patience and an open heart foster the independence and potential all children possess. She makes the most of this time to nurture Bella’s self-esteem and curiosity.
As with Silly Willy Apple Cake, Amelia Griggs has included another of her family’s favorite recipes called Mama’s Meatball Recipe. <CLICK HERE TO READ TO FULL REVIEW>
